Adolescent Counselling (Ages 10+)

Adolescence can be a challenging and emotional time for many young people. As children grow and develop, they may experience anxiety, low self-esteem, struggles with identity, emotional distress, self-harm, difficulties at school, or challenges within friendships and family relationships. Having a safe and supportive space to talk can make a significant difference to their emotional wellbeing.

I offer professional person-centred counselling for young people aged 10 and above, providing a warm, confidential, and non-judgemental environment where they can feel heard, understood, and supported.

I have experience working with adolescents in a variety of settings, including secure hospital environments, supporting young people experiencing self-harm, anxiety, emotional difficulties, and identity-related struggles. I have also delivered workshops within schools, helping young people develop emotional awareness, confidence, and healthy coping skills.

How I Support Young People

Every young person is different, so sessions are tailored to meet their individual needs and personality. Using a person-centred approach, I build trusting therapeutic relationships that help young people feel safe to express themselves openly and honestly.

Alongside talking therapy, I may use a range of age-appropriate activities, creative approaches, and coping strategies to help young people:

  • Understand and manage emotions

  • Build confidence and self-esteem

  • Develop healthy coping skills

  • Reduce anxiety and emotional overwhelm

  • Improve communication and relationships

  • Explore identity and personal challenges in a safe space

Areas of Support

I can support adolescents with:

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Self-harm and emotional distress

  • Low mood and depression

  • Identity and self-esteem struggles

  • Friendship and relationship difficulties

  • School-related pressures

  • Family challenges

  • Emotional regulation and coping strategies

A Safe and Supportive Space

My aim is to provide young people with a calm, compassionate, and accepting environment where they feel valued and supported. Building trust is at the heart of my work, helping adolescents feel empowered to explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace.
